Wolverine Time-Travels in New ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ Trailer

Joining the lineup of superhero blockbusters this summer alongside The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Captain American: The Winter Soldier is the long-awaited X-Men: Days of Future Past.

20th Century FOX released the second trailer for the Marvel comics saga early Monday morning, showcasing the clash of fan-favorite mutants from the original X-Men trilogy and X: Men: First Class including Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Halle Berry as Storm, and Nicholas Hoult as Beast.

The trailer provides a sneak peek of the time-travel element, sending Wolverine on a mission to bring past and present mutants “side-by-side to end this war before it ever begins.” The preview also provides a glimpse of James McAvoy (Young Charles Xavier) and Michael Fassbender (Young Magneto) joining forces with their older selves played by X-Men veterans Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen.

The star-studded film also casts Ellen Page as Shadowcat, American Horror Story‘s Evan Peters as Quicksilver, and Anna Paquin will reprise her role as Rogue.

The latest installment of the X-Men franchise is slated for release on May 23.
