Diego Luna Talks New Movie ‘Cesar Chavez: An American Hero’
Diego Luna phoned in to On Air with Ryan Seacrest to talk about his latest film, Cesar Chavez: An American Hero.
The actor, who was also behind films like Y Tu Mamá También, explains: “It’s an exciting time, I’ve been working on it for four years.”
The film tells the story of Cesar Chavez, the Mexican-American farm worker who became a civil-rights activist and labor organizer and co-founded the National Farm Workers Association back in 1962.
“It’s about the sacrifice that a movement like this demanded from these people,”explains Diego. “These people were willing to give everything away for change to come and they went on strike for five years and they toured the country telling the story of farm workers … and sent this beautiful message of change.”
Along with portraying a movement in history, Diego goes on to say: “It’s a film about a father and a son and … how much a father has to sacrifice in order to bring change for his kid.”
Catch Cesar Chavez: An American Hero out in theaters Friday, March 28.
