Beyonce Gets Emotional During Final ‘Mrs. Carter Show’ Concert
And that’s a wrap! After one year of “running the world” on her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour, Beyonce’s brought it to a close Thursday night in Lisbon, Portugal.
The “Drunk in Love” singer posted this photo to her Instagram last night along with the caption, “Fin!”
The tour, which kicked off in Serbia in April 2013, traveled all throughout Europe and visited North America, South America, Australia, and Asia.
“If you all don’t know, tonight makes 132 shows,” Beyonce tearfully said on Thursday. “Tonight is the last show of the Mrs. Carter Show. We started a year ago and I want to say this has been such a journey. In the past year, we’ve been through so much together. The Super Bowl, shooting the videos, all of these shows.”
“I just want you to know that I am so lucky. I’m giving y’all an ugly cry,” Beyoncé said emotionally.
The tour was named the highest grossing female tour of 2013 and during a few shows, her husband, Jay Z, joined her on stage.
Furthermore, in the last year “Drunk In Love” singer’s self-titled fifth album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts after it was released. The album included 14 songs and 17 music videos, all of which were released as a complete surprise to the public.
