Jason Bateman on His Directorial Debut, ‘Bad Words’
Jason Bateman is utilizing his four-letter words!
The actor is making his directorial debut with his latest flick Bad Words and revealed to On Air with Ryan Seacrest that he decided to make his debut with this movie since he connected with the character.
“I’m embarrassed to say I have a similar dark sense of humor, but I also have a very soft chewy center that this nasty guy I play has,” he jokes. “It just kind of worked for me, you kind of have to show this guy is sensitive, but show his prickly veneer.”
Considering Jason’s character cusses around kids while attempting to win a spelling bee, we had to wonder, does he have a potty mouth around his own kids?
“Only around the 2-year-old because she doesn’t know what I’m saying,” he tells us. However, he jokes, he draws the line once his kids are old enough to watch the Disney show, Jessie.
“As soon as they start watching Jessie … I draw the line … there’s a lot of sass on that show.”
All jokes aside, Jason opens up about his own spelling bee experience as a child. “I was in one spelling bee when I was a little kid and I lost early to the word ‘answer’ … that’s why I had to go into acting. We’re not a bright group.”
