Christina Perri Explains How She Teamed up With Ed Sheeran

Christina Perri’s new album Head or Heart features a duet with her pal Ed Sheeran.

The duo collaborated on “Be My Forever,” which Christina wrote herself, but she admits she didn’t think she’d ever keep the song for her own album because it’s too “happy.”

“I remember thinking, ‘Well this certainly will not be my song because I’ve never written anything that happy before,'” Christina tells On Air with Ryan Seacrest. “But in fact, I fell in love with it and I wrote a guy part … who also doesn’t sing super happy songs … Mr. Ed Sheeran.”

Christina also adds that she considers Ed one of her true friends, joking they even hang out when they don’t have to.
