Lorde Talks School, Success, and Style in ‘Teen Vogue’
At just 17-years-old, Lorde has already accomplished what most musicians could only dream of: her first single, “Royals,” has gone six-times platinum and she has taken home two Grammy Awards. However, the “Team” singer is more relatable than ever in her interview for the May issue of Teen Vogue.
Born Ella Yelich-O’Connor, the New Zealand native admits to being a bit different than the other girls in school: “I was friends with all the boys and kind of bratty, nerdy, and quiet. I was probably really obnoxious to hang out with.”
The songstress admits that even she didn’t predict her mega-success, and seems genuinely surprised to find out that some of the biggest names in Hollywood are fans of her music.
After being told that Hilary Duff attended one of her shows, Lorde reacted the way any teenager would: she had a complete fangirl moment. “Hilary Duff? Are you freaking serious? Hilary Duff was there last night? This is what dreams are made of!”
