Stream Mariah Carey’s ‘The Elusive Chanteuse’ Before Its Release

Mariah Carey‘s long-awaited, strangely-titled album, Me. I Am Mariah … The Elusive Chanteuse, will be released next Tuesday, May 27, but before then, she’s giving fans a first listen.

The entire 15-track album is currently available to stream on iTunes. Listen to it HERE!

At midnight on May 1, Mariah dropped the surprise news about her album, its title, cover art … and why it has the name it does.

“On the back cover of this album is a personal treasure,” she says in a video (which has since been taken down due to copyright issues) as a childhood drawing is shown.

“This is my first and only self-portrait. I drew it when I was 3-and-a-half  and entitled it, ‘Me. I am Mariah.’ Please don’t judge me for such a simplistic title … come on, I was only 3-and-a-half … I’ve kept this stored in private for so long, but because this album is a reflection of some of the peaks and valleys that have made me who I am today, I’ve decided to share it with those of you who actually care and have been here for me through it all.”
