‘Harry Potter’ Star Rupert Grint Records First Song: Listen

Who knew Rupert Grint could sing?

The actor, who played Ron Weasley in the beloved Harry Potter films, recorded the song “Lightning” for Postman Pat: The Movieand unexpectedly, Rupert can sing!

This catchy pop track for the British animated comedy sounds similar to Ed Sheeran — or maybe they just look alike … after all, the actor starred in his “Lego House” video — but Rupert admits that he had a little help.

“It is quite an easy, catchy song but I just did it because I thought it would be quite fun but they have obviously done some kind of auto-tuning,” the 25-year old told BBCRadio.

In Postman Pat, which hits theaters this Friday, Rupert plays Josh, who is a member of a boy band, alongside Harry Potter co-stars Jim Broadbent and David Tennant.
