Ed Sheeran Debuts New Love Ballad ‘Thinking Out Loud’: Watch

Ed Sheeran performed on Later … With Jools Holland on Friday and debuted a new romantic ballad, “Thinking Out Loud,” off his forthcoming X album.

Arranged with simple piano chords and soft guitar strums, the “A Team” singer delivered a stripped-down rendition of the passionate love song about an ageless romance.

“When my hair’s over-grown and my memory fades / and the crowds don’t remember my name,” he sings. “When my hands don’t play the strings the same way / I know you will still love me the same.”

On Thursday, the British singer-songwriter — whose track “All of the Stars” will be featured in the Fault in Our Stars soundtrack — released the visual for his Pharrell-assisted single, “Sing,” which also features the “Happy” crooner.

Ed’s sophomore X record arrives in stores on June 23 via Asylum Records and Atlantic Records.
