50 Cent Explains Awful First Pitch at Mets Game: ‘I Make Music’

For it’s one, two, three strikes, you’re out, at the old ball game…

Or just one pitch if you’re 50 Cent. The New York-born rapper threw out the first pitch for the New York Mets game earlier this week and it was memorable … but for all the wrong reasons.

In case you missed it:

The 38-year-old performer appeared on Good Morning America on Friday to promote his new album, Animal Ambition, and explained what exactly went wrong with his pitch.

“See I was trying to get Curtis to be more like 50 Cent,” the rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson joked. “50 Cent is a star and Curtis just does things for no reason.”

50 also confronted rumors about the bad throw being a publicity stunt. “Oh no, it slipped! It slipped out of my hand,” he clarified. “I’m not a professional pitcher, I make music.”

Watch the video to hear how his pitch was so bad, it got the rapper pulled over.

Animal Ambition is 50 Cent’s fifth studio album and will be released on Tuesday.
