Ariana Grande, Iggy Azalea Drop ’60s-Themed ‘Problem’ Video
When it comes to music videos, Ariana Grande has a knack for evoking nostalgia. The 20-year-old revived the ’90s in her “Baby I” video, modernized Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet for “Right There,” and now she’s back in the ’60s for her latest video, “Problem.”
The clip opens with a blink from an old-fashioned tube television and finds the Yours Truly artist donning knee-high go-go boots as she dances in a retro soundstage. The Nev Todorovic-visual features contortionists and break dancers, and even “Right There” collaborator Big Sean makes a cameo for the “one less problem without you” whispered refrain.
Australian rapper Iggy Azalea, who is rocking a bouffant hairstyle, also makes an appearance to deliver her guest verse and shimmies with Ariana against a psychedelic background.
On May 22, “Problem” went platinum in the U.S. market, joining the ranks of her mega-hit single, “The Way,” featuring Mac Miller. The songstress also made an announcement via Twitter on the status of her long-overdue sophomore album.
