Filipa Gets Cozy With Mystery Man in ‘Chills’ Music Video: Watch

Now, the YouTube sensation is ready to unleash the romantic music video for the love-tinged ballad, and has the exclusive premiere.

In the Kyle White TV-directed clip — shot at the Royal Elephant Hotel in Centurion, South Africa — the cover artist finds utopia in the arms of a mystery man who makes “life better than dreaming.” At the end of the clip, the 18-year-old dolls up in a white sequined gown and waltzes down the stairwell to greet her suitor.

“I treated each song as if it were my own and the producers made sure that the songs weren’t exact replicas of the originals,” she says in a press release. “‘Chills’ was chosen as the debut single as it is indicative of the musical direction I want to go in.”

“Chills” — available on iTunes now — serves as the lead single off her upcoming debut album, which will be hyped with “at least two more singles” before its official release date in early 2015.

The South African songstress competed against 26 YouTube cover artists — including The X Factor contestants Jedward, The Vamps, and IM5 — and placed first after five competitive fan-voted rounds.
