Kardashian Friend Pia Mia Signs Multi-Million Dollar Record Deal

Internet sensation Pia Mia just landed herself a huge record deal with Interscope Records, and she has the Kardashian clan to thank.

According to TMZ, the multi-million dollar deal will pay her $1.3 million for her first album and a potential $9 million more if the label green lights another three albums.

Although Pia Mia hasn’t confirmed the big news yet, she did tweet this on Tuesday:

The 17-year-old singer got her start posting videos to her YouTube channel, but took the Internet by storm when Kim Kardashian shared a video of her singing a rendition of  Drake’s “Hold On We’re Going Home” at Kylie Jenner’s 16th birthday party last year.

Luckily for her, Kanye West, the entire Kardashian family, and even Drake himself were sitting front and center.

Since then, Pia Mia has garnered 1.1 million Instagram followers and 162,000 YouTube subscribers. She also launched her first single, “Red Love,” in December 2013, and had her song “Fight For You” featuring Chance the Rapper on the soundtrack for the film Divergent.

“When I met Pia and heard her sing I was floored,” Joie Manda, president of Urban Music at Interscope Records said. “Artists of her magnitude come along very rarely. We are truly excited to help her become a global superstar.”

Her debut EP The Gift is now available on the iTunes store.
