Watch First Trailer for ‘Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story’
Lifetime has unveiled the first teaser for The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story, a scripted movie that takes a behind-the-scenes look at the off-screen lives of the cast from the ’90s classic Saved by the Bell.
In the original TV series, the casts were an amicable close group of friends, but according to Lifetime’s tell-all telepic, the trailer — set to “Poison” by Bell Biv DeVoe — teases tension between the students.
“Lifetime takes a nostalgic look back at the ‘90s TV show that changed the landscape of Saturday mornings with America’s favorite teens,” the network said. “The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story delves into the experiences of six unknown young actors placed into the Hollywood spotlight, exposing the challenges of growing up under public scrutiny while trying to maintain the squeaky clean image of their popular characters both on and off-screen.”
The original SBTB series — which starred Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Mario Lopez, Dustin Diamond, Lark Voorhies, Elizabeth Berkley, and Tiffani Thiessen — ran from 1989 to 1993.
The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story premieres on Monday, September 1 at 9 p.m. PT/ET on Lifetime.
