Danity Kane Announce Breakup Following ‘Turn for the Worst’

All-girl group Danity Kane, who announced their reunion last August, has officially called it quits for a second time, a rep for the “Showstopper” singers confirmed with Us Weekly on Friday.

The announcement comes on the heels of a rumored battery report that took place in a recording studio on Monday, where Dawn Richard allegedly took a swing at her then-bandmate Aubrey O’Day.

Audrey and Shannon Bex directly informed fans via Twitter by releasing a full statement written by O’Day on Friday.

“During a recent group meeting, a business conversation took a turn for the worst when my group member punched me in the back of my head while I was speaking to another associate. To be clear, she was not physically engaged or threatened prior to her attack on me,” Aubrey wrote. “Disagreements happen. But a war of words and ideas should never end inphysical aggression.”

The group was founded by Diddy on his MTV series Making the Band. The original five-piece pop group went on to spawn their hit singles “Showstopper” and “Damaged” before announcing their first disbandment in 2009.

DK reunited in August of 2013 sans WanitaD. WoodsWoodgette, and the ladies quickly lost their fourth member Aundrea Fimbres in May of 2014 when she dropped out to focus on starting a family.
