Ed Sheeran Dresses up as Little Orphan ‘Annie’ on ‘Jimmy Kimmel’

ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, which reunited the leading ladies of Friends to act out a fan-fiction sketch on Wednesday, caught wind of NBC’s revival of Peter Pan played by Girls actress Allison Williams.

In an attempt to top the rivaled Peacock Network, Kimmel announced that ABC will air a live production of the 1982 Broadway musical Annie on November 3. The host continued by treating the audience to a spoofed preview of the reboot by calling out British redhead Ed Sheeran.

The “A Team” singer, who was in Los Angeles for a leg of U.S. X tour, stepped out in a red velvet dress with a stuffed replica of the little orphan’s dog Sandy on a skateboard. As he began to belt out the musical’s famed song “Tomorrow,” the 23-year-old immediately stopped and said “I can’t do this” and walked offstage.

Prior to his hilarious cameo on the talk show, On Air with Ryan Seacrest dialed in the singer-songwriter to put his rumored MTV Video Music Awards feud with Miley Cyrus to rest.

“I think she’s a fantastic artist,” he said. “I think she’s got a great voice, writes great songs.”

While at Kimmel, Ed also performed “Don’t” and “Sing” on the outdoor stage. Check out those performances:
