Kris Allen and
Adam Lambert joined Ryan in-studio Friday to share behind the scenes
American Idol details and news on their up and coming albums.
Immediately upon arrival Adam revealed that he had a crush on Kris when they were rooming together during
Idol. "Oh God yeah, that got uncomfortable," joked Lambert, but Kris said "it wasn't weird at all."
Kris told Ryan that mid-
Idol finale, getting a break was top of mind. "When we were singing the song with
Queen I was like, 'finally this thing is over'...the show was great but like it's grueling, man," he said. Adam's feelings are a little different. "In a way I feel like there's more pressure now, the show was a very protected environment, everything was done for us. We were told where to go what to do, when to sing...now there's more room to mess up," he explained.
The two are currently working on their respective albums which are set to come out sometime before Thanksgiving. Kris told Ryan that he's releasing a "Pop-rock, soft rock" album. Adam's album will incorporate "Pop-rock, electronic, [and] funk." He said he "[doesn't] want to stick to one sound." What he's more excited about, though, is the outfits he gets to wear on tour, which kicks off July 5th.
Adam revealed that he'll be singing "a
David Bowie medley at the end of [his] set which is really, really cool. We have it orchistrated with a lot of modern electronic elements so it's really 2009." Kris also mentioned that he's "going to do some stuff from the show" and he'll also be singing "Hey Jude." We're so excited!
Adam recently learned that someone released some tracks he recorded back in 2005. He was "shocked" and told Ryan, "all I have to say is that they're not done, they're ideas, and someone took them and decided to turn them into a finished product without my input."
After hearing about
Michael Jackson's death on Thursday, they "cancelled rehearsal" because "no one could even think anymore."
As a tribute to Jackson, FOX is airing their
American Idol Michael Jackson
episode on Monday, June 29th. Adam covered "Black or White" and Kris covered "Remember The Time."
