They call her the "Japanese Madonna" and megastar Utada now has her sights set on conquering the American music scene.
To date, Utada has sold more than 19.5 million singles, over 25.6 million albums, and has over 28.9 million downloads - it's no surprise that her debut album First Love is Japan's biggest selling album of all time.
Though she is much more accustomed to performing to sold out arenas with screaming fans, Monday, she treated us to an exclusive intimate performance for ryanseacrest.com (see it on the site soon).
Her U.S. album drops today, March 24, featuring the single "Come Back to Me" which is buzzing throughout the music scene.
She worked with American R&B crooner Ne-Yo on some of her new album including the duet "Do You" - listen to it below!
I'd listened to her since her debut album in 1998. I wish her all the best in America, and make it just as big as she was in Japan.

OMG Ryan - I love Utada! She's not that new to the US scene though, her first US album came out in like 2004. It did decent on the dance charts, I think.
