Kara DioGuardi Signs On For 'Idol' Season Nine

FOX, 19 Entertainment and FremantleMedia have officially announced Kara DioGuardi's return to American Idol!

DioGuardi will be returning as a judge Idol's ninth season, premiering in January 2010 on FOX.

Simon Fuller, the creator and executive producer of American Idol was happy to announce his relief!

“We are so happy to welcome back Kara for her second season with Idol...She is a breath of fresh air, and her passion for music and her understanding of talent is invaluable. This show is all about discovering new talent, and Kara’s championing of Adam Lambert is proof positive of her great instinct,” he said of her return.

Both Ryan and Simon Cowell have confirmed they are returning to Idol next season, however there is still no word yet on Paula Abdul.

This is awesome! A classy woman who actually knows music & talent. Kara offers REAL constructive criticism & doesn't baby the IDOLS. Her expertise really made Paula look like an airhead.LATER'Z PAULA
