Kris Allen Tells Us What To Expect As a Signed Artist

American Idol's most recent winner, Kris Allen, has finally been signed! His very first album will come out in the Fall courtesy of Jive Records.

Kris told reporters, "As exciting as the last few months have been, I'm really looking forward to what is next. I'm very grateful to be working with Simon Fuller and his team at 19 Entertainment, along with Barry Weiss and Jive Records on my debut album."

Kris is raring to go as he said, "Everyone's been asking me what it's going to sound like. It will be very similar to what you heard from me on the show -- definitely in the pop/rock genre. I can't wait to get started!"

Simon Fuller is really excited to start working with Kris in getting his album out. He said, "Kris won the hearts of millions of Americans with his soulful voice, good looks and gracious demeanor. However, it is his passion for music and love of performing that will make sure Kris stands the test of time and makes American Idol proud."

Kris Allen has been sitting at the number 23 position on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart for his single “No Boundaries,” which was co-written by Kara DioGuardi. As of right now, Kris is preparing to go on the road with the top ten Idol finalists from season eight.

The tour begins in Portland on July 15th!
