Brothers portrays a marriage, between Natalie Portman and Toby Maguire, that suddenly gets torn when he goes missing while fighting the war in Afganistan.
Maguire's brother, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, looks after his brother's wife (Portman) and her children. However, in the midst of comforting them, he begins to develop feelings for her.
When her husband re-surfaces, Portman is faced with a difficult decision to be with her husband or his brother.
